Salmon is my favorite fish! Salmon’s main health benefit is that it is an excellent source of good fat or Omega-3 fatty acids. The Omega-3 fatty acids lower bad cholesterol and improve mood. Furthermore, it even makes your hair shiny, your skin smooth, and can brighten your eyes!
There are numerous ways to cook salmon. My favorite is to grill it especially in the summer. You can also bake it, broil it, pan fry it, or eat it raw!
Salmon is a great source of protein. Serve it with a vegetable, like sautéed spinach, and you have a light healthy meal. You can also add a whole grain like quinoa or brown rice for a very balanced meal.
When available, wild salmon is better to buy than farmed salmon, as wild salmon does not contain excess contaminants or mercury.
