Homemade Raw Almond Milk Recipe

I love this homemade recipe for raw almond milk. It is easy to make, it’s super healthy, and it’s cost effective! The next time you purchase almond milk or your favorite vegan milk, take a look at the ingredients. Store bought nut milks contain a lot of unnecessary ingredients, including processed ingredients and sugar. The more natural foods we eat, the happier our bodies will be. Furthermore, when you do the math, making your own almond milk is also less expensive. I like this recipe for homemade almond milk because it tastes really fresh, natural, and sweet! It’s great to use in smoothies, soups, cereals, other raw food dishes, and to drink on it’s own. In Ayurvedic medicine, they suggest drinking a warm glass of milk before you go to bed to relax yourself. This recipe is low in sugar, and high in protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Ingredients:
1 cup almonds
water for soaking almonds
2 cups water
1 cup coconut water, from a fresh Thai coconut or your favorite brand
½ tsp. liquid vanilla stevia

Preparation:
Soak the almonds in water overnight for at least 6 hours.

Drain the almonds, discarding the water. Put 2 cups of water, 1 cup of coconut water, vanilla stevia, and almonds in high-speed blender and blend well.

Strain the blended almond mixture using cheesecloth or other strainer.

This homemade raw almond milk will keep well in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days. You will need to stir it every time you bring it out because it settles.
Have some fun in the kitchen and make your own Almond Milk!

Until next time
-Emily
